Alberto Mingardi is Director General of Istituto Bruno Leoni, Italy’s free-market think tank which he helped to establish in 2004. He holds a PhD in Political Science from University of Pavia. Dr Mingardi is also an Adjunct Scholar with the Cato Institute and an Affiliate with the Economic Science Institute at Chapman University. He currently serves as Deputy Chairman of Fondazione TIM.
His commentaries have appeared in major newspapers, and he frequently appears on Italian radio and tv. He is currently a columnist with national daily La Stampa and writes regularly for the cultural supplement of Il Sole 24 Ore. Internationally, his opinion pieces have also been published by the The Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and Politico. He blogs regularly with EconLog.
His last book is L’intelligenza del denaro. Perché il mercato ha ragione anche quando ha torto (Marsilio, 2013), now being translated in Spanish for Union Editorial. He has translated Antonio Rosmini into English (2007) and Thomas Hodgskin (2014) and Herbert Spencer (2016) into Italian.
